WHCC is going through a 6-week sermon series titled, “Eros and the Imago Dei: Finding our deepest desires and ultimate identity in Christ.” This series will provide a biblical foundation on how we as disciples of Christ can respond to issues related to marriage, sex, homosexuality, and transgenderism. Click here to view the topics for each week.
We will be hosting a weekly post-sermon Q&A on Zoom on Sunday nights at 8pm as a place to ask questions to the preacher and/or to receive prayer from our pastoral team. You can attend the Q&A at whcchome.org/eros-qa. Questions can be sent anonymously in advance or during the Q&A. Text the word EROS to 713-347-1313, then you will be prompted to text in your questions.
NOTE TO OUR PARENTS:
Our children’s ministry will be providing age-appropriate teaching as well as resources for parents on some of these topics. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to children@whcchome.org.
Our youth ministry will be adjusting our Sunday morning (D-Group) planning to support and supplement the sermons. For more information on the youth series schedule, please click here. Contact youth@whcchome.org if you have any questions.
Join us for Good Friday Service on Friday, March 29, from 7-8:30pm in the Sanctuary. Through worship, scripture, and communion, let us gather and reflect on the love of our Lord Jesus, as he was nailed to the cross for our sins.
There will be a children’s program during Good Friday Service for infants through Pre-K. Please click here to register your children by March 29 at 3pm.
Good Friday will also be the first day that the Behold! art exhibit is open. We welcome you to check out the art exhibit before or after the Good Friday service, or any other time while the exhibit is open through April 28.
Come join us for our annual Meta Picnic! It is open to all English congregation attendees, newcomers, and invited friends, as well as all W youth and their families!
Date & Time: Saturday, March 30, from 10am-2pm
Location: Spring Valley Park (1025 Campbell Rd, Houston, TX 77055)
The main entree will be provided, with sides and desserts shared by Meta small groups. We will have activities for the kids too. We encourage you to bring your folding chairs or picnic blankets if you have them.

Ladies, join us for our 2024 Women’s Retreat! It’ll be on April 12-14 at Camp Allen in Navasota, TX. This year’s theme will be “Heart of Worship” and our speaker will be author and speaker, Margaret Ashmore.
Find full retreat details and registration here! We hope that you will prayerfully consider joining us and take this opportunity to invest in your relationship with God as well as with the women in our community. If you have any questions, please email women@whcchome.org.
Mothers and daughters (ages 5 and up), come join us for an afternoon of food and fun! The theme for this special event is Beautiful Inside and Out, and it will be at church on Saturday, April 20, from 2:00-5:30pm. The price will be $5 per person. Make sure you register here by Wednesday, April 10!
Please note that daughters do not need to be individually registered. Only mothers need to register, and they will enter their daughters’ names and details in the registration form.
Infant Dedication (for children ages 2 and under) will take place during Meta Sunday service on Sunday, April 28. Please visit the Nursery on Sunday or email children@whcchome.org for the application.
The overflow room by the sanctuary will be unavailable as secondary seating from now until April 28, as it will be used to host the Behold! Art Exhibit this Spring. Families who usually sit in the overflow room during service are encouraged to sit inside the Sanctuary. (We love to worship with your little ones too!)
As believers, we all know the importance of maintaining daily quiet time with the Lord. However, the everyday stressors and activities of life often prevent us from creating dedicated time, devoted to prayer and reading the word. From January 7 to April 28, at 9:30am, this Pathways devotional time welcomes anyone who would like to engage in a time of scripture reading, reflection, and discussion. The devotional time will use “Be Thou My Vision: A Liturgy for Daily Worship” as the guiding text and will be led by a rotating group of facilitators.
We invite anyone who is interested to join us in Room 105 (the former library, by the back entrance). There is no need to prepare in advance or attend every week. While not required, we invite you to register to let the teachers know you are interested in joining.
Download our WHCC mobile app in the App Store or Google Play! On it you will find access to our weekly sermon outline, announcements, resources, and prayer bulletins. You can also register for classes/events or manage your giving straight from the app.
