In remembering Jesus’ suffering, death, and resurrection, WHCC will be presenting “Behold! Stations of the Cross” – an artistic reflection of Jesus’ journey on the Via Dolorosa. The exhibit will be open starting Easter weekend, from March 29 to April 28, in the overflow/cry room by the sanctuary.

Purpose

In remembering Jesus’ suffering, death, and resurrection, WHCC will be presenting “Behold! Stations of the Cross” – an artistic reflection of Jesus’ journey on the Via Dolorosa on Easter weekend, 2024.

Theme

Behold! Stations of the Cross will include seven stations of artwork chronicling Jesus’ suffering.

  1. Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane (Mt 26:36-46; Mk 14:32-42; Lk 22:39-46; Jn 18:1)
  2. Jesus condemned to death (Mt 27:1-26; Mk 15:1-15; Lk 22:66-23:25; Jn 19:6-16)
  3. Jesus scourged and crowned with thorns (Mt 27:27-31; Mk 15:16-20; Jn 19:1-5)
  4. Jesus carrying His cross; Jesus helped by Simon to carry His cross (Mt 27:32-33; Mk 15:21-22; Lk 23:26-32; Jn 19:17)
  5. Jesus stripped and nailed to the cross (Mt 27:34-44; Mk 15:22-36; Lk 23:33-43; Jn 19:18-30)
  6. Jesus dying on the cross; Jesus buried (Mt 27:45-66; Mk 15:37-47; Lk 23:44-56; Jn 19:30-42)
  7. The resurrection (Mt 28; Mk 16; Lk 24; Jn 20; Acts 1)
