Whether you are new to our city or a long-time Houstonian, we welcome you to make WHCC your spiritual home. Our English Young Adult Ministry connects college students and young adults in their 20s and 30s to grow together in their journey with Jesus Christ, to know him, and to make him known in our city and the world.
Our heart is to connect men with one another in meaningful, Christ-centered relationships, for the purpose of building each other up in Christ. Together, we encourage and challenge each other to live out God’s calling for us to be gospel influencers in our homes, our workplaces, and the church.
The desire of our Women’s Ministry is to create opportunities for women of all ages and life stages to gather together and build spiritual friendships – genuine relationships where we can engage in heart issues and point each other to our glorious and gracious God. We invite you to join our events: large group gatherings to study and reflect on various topics, dinner gatherings with a small group of women, summer small groups, and our biennial women’s retreat. Our Legacy Ministry invites Boomers, in recognition of God’s grace, to leave a spiritual legacy using the unique gifts and resources God has entrusted to them. This means encouraging intellectual, social, physical, and spiritual growth—both individually and in community—so we are better equipped to serve God’s Kingdom.
Our guiding verse is Mark 12:30: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart…your soul…your mind and…all your strength.”
At WHCC, our mission is to actively engage seniors holistically into intentional Christian living for meaningful, fulfilling purposes. We fully recognize the importance and contributions of the boomer generation to the history of the church and believe in the well-known adage that “the best is yet to come.” As the psalmist says in Psalm 71:17-18, “O God, from my youth you have taught me, and I still proclaim your wondrous deeds…I proclaim your might to another generation, your power to all those to come.”
Our vision is to transform generations, equipping a new generation to be strong, ardent Christ-followers. Boomers have a critical role to play in shaping the next generation through Godly legacy and missional zeal. This role is highlighted in Psalm 145:4: “One generation shall commend your works to another.” The spiritual well-being of boomers is an important goal that is integral to the health of WHCC.
To achieve this goal, we seek to engage, mobilize, and strengthen the legacy community by taking a holistic approach that focuses on the following areas:
Our gathering times offer a relaxing time of fellowship, food, and fun. Optional activities include physical exercises, social bonding, and legacy life talks on finances, wellness, books, and other relevant topics.
