Dear W family,
As we end the year, may the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ, bring us comfort and joy during these challenging times!
With the omicron variant in full swing, our COVID response team has been monitoring the situation. In response to two consecutive weeks of >1000 cases per the Texas Medical Center (TMC COVID Dashboard), we are elevating our response level to level 3, effective 12/27/21.
As a reminder, this means:
- 3 feet social distancing;
- Check in for worship gatherings: please scan the QR code upon entry or text “Here” to 855–972-9422 to let us know you’re here. This is to notify all who were present at a gathering if we receive notice of a positive COVID case.
- Masks to be worn at all times, including those on stage.
In addition, we will be updating our plan with new triggers for each level effective in the new year (1/1/2022). While this will not affect our current level, a summary of the changes are below:
- Added a level 0 for when the WHO declares the end of the pandemic;
- Updated the metrics to be cases per 100,000 people according to CDC’s definitions of risk levels.
We will continue to base our metrics on TMC’s average daily cases. You may find the updated plan here.
Please continue to pray for God’s mercy in this pandemic and for God’s wisdom and strength for us as a body of Christ to persevere in proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ.
