Since joining WHCC in 2005, Hon-Chung Lau has served as a deacon, elder, and Sunday School teacher for both adults and youth. He and his wife Shirley started the Bellaire small group. Currently, Hon-Chung is an adjunct professor at the Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering Department of Rice University, where he teaches and conducts research in the global energy transition. He is the author of two books: “Not the Same Work,” and “Studying Abroad Purposefully,” in which he discusses the integration of faith with work and studies. He and his wife have two adult sons.
