Workshops

Design Sprint for Missions (Indigitous) | Sat, Feb 10, 3-6PM

Are you interested in learning about the unique challenges that global partners face on the field? Would you like to learn about how you can play a role in helping to use your giftings and skills in strategy, organization and design in a collaborative space to help innovate and find unique solutions to modern missional challenges?

Come and be a part of this workshop led by Nick Wu from Indigitous, as he guides us through a group collaborative process that will allow us to think through issues faced by global partners, collaborate with one another in a strategic design process to create tailor-made solutions for global partners, and present these solutions for feedback and constructive critique. Please RSVP below!

Agenda:

  • First Hour: Learning from our Missionaries and their pain points
  • Second Hour: Brainstorming and address the issue with design thinking principles
  • Third Hour: Sharing our discoveries with each other

Key Features:

  • Collaborative Problem-Solving: Engage in an intensive brainstorming process, where church members of all generations and marketplace spheres collaborate with our missionaries to empathize and identify pain points and brainstorm solutions.
  • Culturally Informed Approach: Special emphasis on understanding the unique needs and cultural contexts of the regions our missionaries serve, ensuring that solutions are practical, respectful, and effective.

Who Should Attend:

  • Church members interested in mission work and innovation.
  • Current and aspiring missionaries seeking practical tools for their fieldwork.
  • Church leaders and decision-makers looking to support mission efforts more effectively.

Outcomes:

By the end of the workshop, participants will have developed actionable solutions tailored to the needs of our missionaries, ready to be tested and implemented in the field. This is not just a workshop; it’s a step towards a more effective and impactful mission strategy for our church.

Dear Church, There’s So Much More I Wish I Could Tell You

Newsletters only have space for so much news.  There’s much more that missionaries want to share…but don’t, for varying reasons that may be hard to believe.  Being involved with missions can be as simple as caring for our missionaries.  For most of us in the church, we are on the home front partnering with our missionaries, but oftentimes, we might not know what’s really going on with them.  What can we personally do to understand the real life of a missionary so we can care for them better?
