COVID-19 Recovery Update: Remaining in Stage Yellow, Phase 3

Dear W family,

It has been a huge encouragement to see more and more of you return to Sunday worship and I pray to see even more of you when we return to the sanctuary for worship on 8/1. As we continue to welcome sojourners home to the joy of following Jesus together, many of you may be wondering whether our COVID protocols will change in light of the increasing COVID cases in our city due to the delta variant.

At this time, we will continue to remain in our current stage yellow, phase 3, which requires pre-registration and the wearing of masks for our worship services. As we continue to monitor the situation and learn more about the delta variant, we are thankful to learn that the current vaccines all provide sufficient protection against COVID and its current variants. We highly encourage those who haven’t already received the vaccine and are able to get one to do so as soon as possible. This will not only help to lower your risk of COVID but will also help to provide a level of protection for those who are not able to get vaccines yet, such as our children.

In addition, we ask all who come to worship with us on Sundays to continue wearing masks as it remains an effective method of reducing the transmission of COVID in communities where vaccination status is not known. While we are not requiring social distancing in our services at this time, please be mindful of this when you fellowship together as it is another way of helping to reduce the risk for those who have not received the vaccine. We appreciate everyone’s understanding and cooperation as we persevere through the pandemic together.

As additional COVID variants emerge, we will continue to keep a close eye on the situation. There may be a time in the future when we may need to go back to a previous stage in our recovery plan; however, as long as the vaccines continue to be effective in reducing the risk and symptoms of COVID, we will remain in our current stage and continue to pray for the day to come soon to enter into the green stage. Please continue to pray for God’s mercy in this pandemic and for God’s wisdom and strength for us as a body of Christ to persevere in proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ.
