COVID-19 Recovery Update: Stage Yellow, Phase 3

Dear W family,

It has been a tremendous blessing to see many of you return to in-person worship these past few weeks since moving back to our Sunday morning time! Seeing each of you is a reminder that our time together in corporate worship and fellowship cannot be taken for granted nor can it be replicated. While we wait patiently with anticipation for the restoration of the sanctuary, I am thankful for everyone’s patience and understanding as we worship in the chapel and adjacent overflow rooms.

Due to the encouraging downward trends of COVID in the Houston area, we will be moving into our last phase of the yellow stage of our recovery plan (phase 3), where we are lifting most of our COVID protocols from all of our gatherings; namely, no more temperature checks, social distancing, nor capacity limits. We have updated our chapel seating layout and simplified our registration system so that all you have to do is to let us know if you are coming and how many people will be coming with you. This is to help us prepare enough overflow rooms in the event chapel seating is full.

The only COVID protocol we are maintaining at this time is the wearing of masks while on campus. We look forward to the weeks ahead when continued downward trends will move us into the green stage where we will be able to lift the mask requirement, but until then, we kindly ask that you continue wearing masks for the time being as we continue to encourage more and more of our children, youth, and adults to return to worship. Your participation and cooperation during this time despite your own discomfort speaks of your desire to put your fellow brother and sister before yourself.

I am incredibly grateful of the ways God has led us through this past year, through the many challenges and the ups and downs – He has shown himself faithful and I look forward to celebrating the end of COVID in Houston soon. Please continue to pray for His mercy around the world as others also battle COVID.

May His mercy prevail,

Pastor Nathan
